The article examines the anti-system political positions in the Austrian experience, especially with regard to the events of the FPÖ of Jörg Haider. It analyzes also, from one side, the historical fluctuations between liberalism, populism and radical right, and, from the other side, the current divergences between FPÖ and BZÖ, in the period following the death of Haider.
