The discovery in the State Archives of Naples of the papers of the Marquise Livia Grillo Doria Spinola (1650/55?-1736), coming from one of the oldest Genoese families, has allowed us to focus, in addition to the biographical events  between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, on her economic interests, tastes, family and personal relationships and to begin to reconstitute the patrimony of paintings, silver and jewels, lost after her death. Through the analysis of inventories, minutes of documents and domestic account books, both her role and prerogatives emerge, as well as aspects of the private life and feelings of a little-known female figure of the pro-Spanish elite between Genoa, Milan and Naples.
