By analyzing the Province of Catania case, this essay focuses on the corporative peripheral system, represented by the Consigli provinciali dell’economia (their name changed several limes). They were the first concrete realization of the corporative economic system that intended to resolve class conflict through collaboration between the classes, the “Fascist third wayµ to regulate relationship between State and private interests. The research highlights the differences and, especially, in spite of the regime propaganda, the continuity of the fascist institutions with those of the liberal age.
