952The Earth’s orbital environment is a finite resource facing increasing exploitation by a growing array of actors. The proliferation of space debris poses a serious threat to the long-term sustainability of space activities, while the establishment of a uniform regulatory framework remains a significant challenge. This article examines the current legal framework governing space debris at the international, transnational, and national levels, identifying and comparing potential solutions to address the need for effective and consistent regulation. Rather than excluding particular approaches, this analysis advocates for the adoption of diverse solutions in a synergistic manner that can yield results over the short, medium, and long term.
