The essay analyses the European Directive 2024/2831 on improving working conditions in platform work, assessing its potential impact on the Italian legal system in the scenario of European regulation on the digital market and data protection. Starting from the interactions with the notion of autonomy and subordination in force in our legal system, the "inclusive" objective scope of application of the directive is assessed. The regulatory perspectives of risk management, typical of the directive, are then taken into consideration, whose interaction with the national system of protection of workers' occupational health and safety and privacy is analysed. The impact of the directive on the rights of transparency, information and individual and collective participation is then investigated. Finally, the prospects for participatory governance of the risks that the directive may solicit in the national legal system emerge.
