The historical archives of regional administrations are little valued and little studied. The Regions preserve documentary heritages that are significantly older than the Regions themselves, produced by regional offices but also by the bodies that administered the regional territories until 1970. These heritages were further enriched at the beginning of the 2000s with the reform of the Constitution. The archives of the regional entity – "Giunta" and "Consiglio" – are essential for studying the history of Italian administration in the last 50 years.
