502The co-regulation, which the DSA seems to prioritize, is not an effective technique for struggling disinformation, nor for ensuring the protection of pluralism and freedom of expression online. Beyond the obvious conflict of interest facing the private entities involved in co-regulation, the idea of a mere post-regulation control raises concerns: disinformation is not fought by censoring freedom of expression or outlawing fake news, but rather by encouraging the reintermediation of information online, revitalizing professionalism, increasing citizen awareness, and putting institutions back at the center of public debate. This essay examines the contradictions associated with the disintermediated information online and offers proposals for more effective regulation of the phenomenon.
