381The paper purports to provide an account of the principles that inspired Mariangela Ripoli’s teaching at the University of Genoa. Four principles are considered in turn. The first principle requires "Bringing and Spreading the Plague": making the future lawyers aware about the foundational importance of endorsing metaethical non-objectivism and non-cognitivism, rejecting cultural absolutism, adopting a realistic perspective as to law and legal practice, and appreciating the importance, for the understanding of legal phenomena, of taking into account the suggestions of a psycho-anthropological approach. The second principle requires "Going through the Looking-Glass": making the future lawyers travel through legally possible worlds in order to get a clearer, so far as possible unbiased, view of the real one. The third principle requires "Pursuing Radical Interdisciplinarity": providing the future lawyers with jurisprudential perspectives arising out of the combination of four different but related inquiries (historical, sociological, literary, and psycho-anthropological). The fourth principle, finally, requires "Forging Enlightened Jurists": proposing the future lawyers to be jurists daring-to-know, egalitarian, subscribing to rights utilitarianism and cosmopolitanism.
