The essay deals with some aspects of Mariangela Ripoli’s intellectual personality twenty years after her passing. Her teaching method was characterized, among other things, by the importance she placed on the study of law and literature. Starting from her most important book, "Itinerari della felicità", published in 2001, the essay deals with the theme of happiness in John Stuart Mill’s utilitarianism.
