1031The symposium, composed of three contributions and the response by the Author of the book, Aileen Kavanagh, engages with the idea and the normative account of the "Collaborative Constitution". Conceived in the peculiar context of the United Kingdom and certainly applicable to other Commonwealth countries, the contributions of the symposium explore the feasibility and the limits of a collaborative constitutional approach in continental Europe, with a particular focus on Italy and at supranational level, in the European Union. Issue such as inter-institutional comity and judicial deference, the role of the principle of proportionality, the follow-up to the rulings by the representative institutions as well as the enforcement of the principle of sincere cooperation are analysed with a view to inform the debate on collaborative constitutionalism beyond the context from which the theory initially originated.
