The essay analyses working hours from a gender perspective. Firstly, the article highlights how the failure to recognize reproduction as a relevant factor in the production process has led to the stereotyping of roles in the family and at work. Secondly it focuses on the role played by gender blind working time regulation. In conclusion it suggests the adoption of a gender perspective for a regulation of working hours that takes into account the needs related to reproductive work by reducing the space for organizational needs.
