The paper dwells on the final phase of the activity of the Flemish painter Ernst Van Schayck (Utrecht, 1575-Macerata, 1632), who settled in Macerata around 1620 and died in this city in 1632, presenting numerous attributional proposals capable of greatly enriching his physiognomy. Moving from a comprehensive reconsideration of the documentation and catalog known to date of the prolific painter, the lesser-known part, to date, of his career is thus reconstructed on the one hand, and on the other an overall reconstruction of his personality is provided, finally also highlighting the multiple relationships woven with patrons, other artists and with figurative models.
