Objects have been on the political historian's agenda for some time now, particularly in studies of the Age of Revolutions and of the Risorgimento, because of their massively increased circulation and, above all, their role in the process of popular politicisation and democratic participation. In this book, Francia focuses on the agency of political objects, whether domestic objects or portable accessories, in the post-Napoleonic Restoration, and both sides of the 1848 revolutions.
