This essay analyses Italian Constitutional Court ruling No. 20 of 2025 on ICI on 'mixed-use' church properties. After reconstructing the terms of the specific question of constitutional legitimacy, the author emphasises the importance of the ruling insofar as it clearly states for the first time the Court’s orientation on the constitutional coverage offered by Article 7, paragraph 2, of the Italian Constitution to the Agreement amending the Lateran Concordat.
