Under Article 7(4) of Brussels I-bis Regulation, the owner of a cultural object may bring proceedings to the courts for the place where the cultural object is situated at the time the court is seized. As Council Directive 2014/60 states that the requesting Member State may initiate return proceedings before the competent court in the requested Member State, this article deals with the relation between both proceedings.
