303After a brief introduction to the EU legal framework on artificial intelligence, the paper examines the gaps in the regulation of its private international law aspects and the consequent need to apply jurisdictional grounds and connection criteria provided by other legal instruments. The aim of this paper is to show that the current rules are inadequate to deal with AI-system torts, and that it would therefore be necessary to introduce specific jurisdictional grounds and conflict-of-laws rules for such cases, which would take into account the peculiar ways in which the tort is carried out and ensure a fair balance between the positions of the parties involved and the underlying interests.
