271This contribution aims to provide a critical and timely analysis of the Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law, adopted on 17 May 2024, by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, highlighting at times profiles of affinity or divergence with respect to the contemporary Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down harmonized rules on artificial intelligence, better known as the AI Act (Artificial Intelligence Act), and finally concluding with some reflections on the quid pluris of the conventional text.
