This article is rooted in the Report from the EU Commission on the application of Regulation (EC) No 864/2007 (Rome II Regulation), focusing on three profiles outlined by the latter. First, it analyzes the application of the general rule set forth in Article 4 Rome II Regulation with reference to multi-State torts. The review then focuses on the potential overcoming of the exclusion from the scope of the Regulation of non-contractual obligations arising out of violations of privacy and rights relating to personality, including defamation. Lastly, it addresses the determination of applicable law to torts on financial markets.
