105This contribution aims to investigate the potential of video games as a new scenic infrastructure for contemporary theatre, within a broader framework of reconfiguring performative codes in the post-digital era. Through the analysis of three emblematic case studies, The Seagull by Celine Song, William Shakespeare's Hamlet by Rustic Mascara, and Macbeth by The Wasteland Theatre Company, the study explores unprecedented forms of interaction between theatrical language and native virtual environments, highlighting how video games do not merely serve as settings or technical supports, but emerge as active devices in the redefinition of the spectacular paradigm. The examined experiences are conceived as sites of linguistic hybridization, where performativity is constructed through the interplay between actor-avatars, remote spectators, and digital spaces governed by ludic codes. Far from representing a temporary response to the pandemic crisis, such practices outline a transformative trajectory that critically challenges traditional categories of theatricality, opening up new possibilities for conceiving the performative space as shared, fluid, and accessible. The intersection between theatre and video games thus emerges as a privileged laboratory for probing the boundaries of live performance and its prospects for survival, regeneration, and democratization in the digital contemporary.
