Edmondo Grassi's book Per una sociologia algomorfica: il ruolo degli algoritmi nei mutamenti sociali is part of the scientific debate on ethical research into the relationship between humans and Artificial Intelligence. This review discusses the author's contribution, highlighting the theoretical core – enriched by legal, legislative, and imaginative insights – of the need for a new social morphogenesis that no longer includes only humans but also AI technology, positioning it within a framework aimed at increasing knowledge and awareness. The author describes new intelligent algorithms – from RPA to LLM to NLP – with the neologism "algoagente" (algoagent), highlighting how they can co-act with humans in the (re)construction of meanings. The publication has a broad sociological scope, combining classical and recent theories, offering a fruitful dialogue between past and present and thus solidifying the arguments expressed. In conclusion, the work highlights the need to adopt a post-anthropocentric perspective to create social space for algomorphic entities, while raising questions about the epistemological line to follow in the development of the concept of deanthropomorphization. Finally, Grassi's work fits into the scientific debate of both theoretical and practical interest in supporting and directing the future technical developments of these technologies.
