There is a substantial body of literature dealing with the questions of regional resilience, which points to the emergence of a new research area. To gain a better understanding of the novel research trends, we conducted a bibliometric analysis of the literature on resilient regional development published between 2000 and 2021. The thematic area «Regional Resilience» has been actively evolving since 2016. Despite the comparative novelty of this topic, the publications on regional resilience have a considerable impact. We have also identified the leading knowledge centres on regional resilience which contribute to the formation of this research area.
