Philosophers and theorists of animal ethics promote a moral view of animals based on their intellectual capacities and ability to feel, but this perspective, while valuable, often does not fully capture the complexity of human-animal interactions. Indeed, the motivations behind the treatment of fauna are influenced by a variety of conflicting needs and interests. Therefore, it is essential to develop a new interpretative framework that integrates these different perspectives and balances the interests at stake in order to guide more balanced and conscious practices in our relationship with animals.
