The essay starts from the opposition of a “Marxism of contradictionµ, considered worn-out and outdated, to a “Marxism of abstractionµ, considered the true paradigm capable of interpreting the current socio-historical condition in which capital has become “global capitalµ. It exposes the device of the emptying of the concrete by the abstract and the consequent hysterical overdetermination of the surface that is theorised precisely by Marxism of abstraction. It examines the consequences of an integral diffusion of the capitalist system into the depths of the individual psyche, studying the consequences of an individual and collective mind, external to itself, and which basically lives on “informationµ and is incapable of “interpretationµ.
