449What role does the critical thinking play in contemporary French schools? How does it contribute to the construction of educational commons within a system marked by an abstract conception of equality and the production of inequalities in terms of educational opportunities and social inclusion? To answer these questions, we will first propose a definition of the idea of the educational commons by examining the structural characteristics of French educational system. We will then analyse the space of the critical thinking in French curricula and classrooms, starting from a sociological research conducted around a school program based on 'education through research'. We will show that, despite its potential, the work on critical spirit thinking does not seem to contribute to the creation of educational commons.
