The article examines how schools in rural areas, through the practice of educational commons, facilitate a process of community regeneration. The school-community relationship in rural areas represents a growing field of study at the international level; however, the experimental spaces for innovative models based on educational commons remain underexplored. In the article we present and discuss the case study of the Columbro Comprehensive Institute (I.C.) in the province of Benevento, which has experimented with practices of commoning. The Cineforum and Reading with Parents projects were analysed using a qualitative methodology. The research highlighted how the I.C. Columbro has been able to build common practices, demonstrating that what takes place in school spaces can have an impact on the community and its members, promoting a way of thinking and acting collectively.
