This paper aims to explore how fostering a culture of repair can align with the goals of the Circular Economy (CE) while addressing consumer and firm uncertainties. Through a systematic literature review, the analysis of the EU legal framework and the direct observation of case-histories in the Mediterranean countries, the study examines the potential of repair initiatives to extend product lifecycles, reduce waste, and stimulate sustainable behaviour. The study focuses on developing repair culture through community engagement, education, and the creation of repair hubs serving as innovation scaffolds, facilitating collaboration among stakeholders and promoting repair-friendly practices. Key findings highlight the role of repair in reshaping consumption norms and the economic benefits of repair incentives for firms. The study emphasizes policy recommendations, including tax incentives for repair services, public awareness campaigns, and repair-friendly product design standards, to support sustainable development and embed repair as a core element of CE strategies.
