Small and medium-sized enterprises are the backbone of the Italian economic system. Their present is made of passion, that strength that helps to sustain what we love until the end, against all odds and in defiance of any rational calculation and planning; by the sacrifice of those who put themselves on the line with all their possible energy; by courage, the ability to face everyday life with its monotony, its problems and its fears and by tradition, that cultural and historical background accumulated over the years and handed down among the various generations that is a real mix of curiosity, knowledge and skills. Today, small and medium-sized enterprises are at the forefront of production processes and internal procedures, present in multiple markets, but must be open to various contaminations if they want to live long. Small and medium-sized enterprises risk remaining closed in their «comfort zone» if they do not take up present and future challenges.
