560This paper proposes a novel interpretation of Kant’s concept of displeasure ("Unlust"), connecting it to the logical notion of "Realrepugnanz" and situating it within a contemporary metacognitive perspective. Displeasure is a foundational negative psychological element of a «busy activity of the mind», crucial for understanding emotional states, moral issues, and the sublime. Through the analysis of displeasure and "Realrepugnanz", this work demonstrates how Kant anticipates central themes of contemporary metacognition, highlighting the active and self-regulating role of the faculties of the mind.
