This study aims to identify and explain the political content of Taylor Swift’s speeches. Over the past year, Swift has demonstrated a significant impact on the national political debate. Her ability to mobilise voters has made her a key player in the upcoming U.S. elections. In addition, several articles have drawn attention to her fan base, which has been described as a cult, and to her social identity construction. Recently, "Time" magazine’s «Person of the Year» award confirmed her status as a socio-political and ideological leader. This study aims to reconstruct the context of cultural common ground in the Usa in order to demonstrate how ideologies are embedded in celebrity politics. The Dha methodology is employed to trace the discursive elements, strategies and «topoi» in Taylor Swift’s 2022 commencement speech at Nyu, and to highlight the legitimation of her ideology by the mass media through "Time" magazine’s 2023 «Person of the Year» interview. The study demonstrates the utilisation of specific elements and the formation of a new legitimised discourse within the context of celebrity politics. It also analyses how discourses are proposed and re-proposed to construct social reality within a broader historical context.
