This paper is the result of a collective effort by fourth-grade students, stemming from a reflection on The Journey to the Land of Emotions, an activity carried out in the second grade. This educational journey led the children to question the meaning of happiness, narrating their experiences through authentic dialogues and shared reflections. Their work highlights the significance of an education that extends beyond the mere transmission of knowledge, fostering the ability to live together in an increasingly diverse and interconnected society. The Scuola-Città Pestalozzi, an experimental institution in the heart of Florence, adopts a pedagogical approach that emphasizes the interdependence between the individual and society. Rooted in an educational vision inspired by Ernesto Codignola, the school promotes a dynamic and contextualized learning model aimed at shaping aware and active citizens. Within this framework, the affective-relational education curriculum, developed in the 1990s, was designed to address the growing complexity of contemporary social relationships.
