The essay investigates the relationship between anthropology and epistemology in the political thought of Friedrich August von Hayek, highlighting how the idea that human beings have a limited and defective cognitive capacity constitutes the central theoretical premise upon which the concept of a free society is the basis of Hayek’s theory.
