654The author addresses the «negative» and its declinations through the novels of Han Kang, who, with powerful and poetic prose, has addressed individual and collective wounds, alienation, horror, the need for memory, and the elaboration of mourning. If in "The Vegetarian" the rejection of meat and the aspiration to a vegetal metamorphosis become a metaphor for extreme self-affirmation through the renunciation of all forms of violence, in "We Do Not Part" the refusal to forget takes the form of a redemption from a condition of denial, a call to individual and collective memory against the prevailing oblivion of contemporary times.
