Written by Ray Bradbury and published in 1953, "Fahrenheit 451" is a dystopian science fiction novel. Bradbury himself later revised his views on the novel’s themes, including technological change, censorship, and new media. This review examines both the book and its film adaptation, interpreting them through the mechanisms of denial and disavowal that define the new society but are increasingly questioned by the protagonist. This internal conflict sets him apart and enables him to recognize the realities of war and perhaps envision the possibility of a better future.
