This essay examines the figure of the human in the Anthropocene through the lens of Nietzsche’s thought. Central is his conception of metamorphosis/transfiguration, as a response to the crisis of meaning brought about by modernity and technical artificiality. Through the dynamic tension of the Apollonian and the Dionysian, Nietzsche dismantles classical ideals and opens a path toward a new sense of the Earth – one rooted in immanence, suffering, and transformation. Read in dialogue with Raphael, Burckhardt and Goethe, Nietzsche’s vision reveals a human no longer defined by mastery, but by the creative potential of becoming.
