This study examines the symbolic role of the basilisk in the Third Proposition of Nietzsche’s "The Antichrist", interpreting it as a metaphor for the replacement of Christian counter-values with new, life-affirming values. After reconstructing the basilisk’s moral-theological and artistic representations, the inquiry adopts a geophilosophical lens to explore its presence in two cities linked to Nietzsche. Finally, by revisiting key Nietzschean texts, the research addresses contemporary ethical-anthropological challenges.
