The paper discusses several aspects of Lorenzo Greuter’s production and artistic path. The article attemps to clarify the artist’s early formation, suggesting that it might have taken place in his family workshop based on the analysis of the context and of his first known work, a reemerged drawing for a print enrgaved by his father and published in 1640 edition of Documenti d’amore, a book commissioned by Francesco Barberini. The article thus discusses the use of prints in Lorenzo’s works through some examples such as Donato Calvi’s portrait, which is based on a print by Lorenzo’s father, Johann Friedrich. The paper then proposes to attribute to Lorenzo Greuter a new Madonna and child. Eventually the article re-examines the research over the Sant’Ivo in Cesena and it discloses a newly found signature in Fonte Avellana altarpiece.
