546The analysis of interdependence requires asking the question «who depends on whom». Interdependence between A and B often makes A depend on B whenever B depends on A. Any constellation of relative positions is an array of possibilities since positions can be visualized differently depending on whose point of view is adopted and on which processes take place within a given structure of connectivity. World interdependence is a complex arrangement of connections. Complexity closure by global actors reflects their visualization of interdependence. In turn, different visualizations make actors lean towards collaboration or conflict. Plurality of visualizations reflects the complexity of world interdependence and the virtual impossibility of attaining a comprehensive picture of connectivity from a single vantage point. Stance pluralism introduces a condition on the criteria of complexity reduction that different actors may put in place as avenues to the effective pursuit of partial or systemic objectives.
