This paper aims to focus on the «energy transition» that is taking place in the Monti Dauni’s inner area, the most «energetically» productive area in Southern Italy. This experience is particularly meaningful both in terms of the green economy, the use of renewable energies and the use of sustainable production systems (cfr. artt. 9 e 41 Cost.), and in terms of vertical and horizontal subsidiarity (artt. 3, paragraphs 2, 5, 117 e 118 Cost.). Against the backdrop of a very complicated set of EU, national and regional regulations, the Monti Dauni energy development strategy offers a valuable observation point for a reflection on the opportunities and issues that the green transition involves.
