In the international debate, especially among critical theory approaches, there has recently been an intensification of the debate around “racial capitalism,µ but also a return in force of categories such as that of “imperialismµ and “underdevelopment.µ Especially in the Anglo-Saxon debate, several authors have investigated the relationship between racialization and capitalist exploitation. The debate remains open around the relationship between relations of power and oppression, based on racial or patriarchal domination, and relations of production based on exploitation. Different approaches divide over the function to be attributed to the “differencesµ and “identitiesµ that shape the varied composition of contemporary subjectivities. These contrasts often revolve around the different positioning vis-à-vis Marxism and, more generally, with respect to the centrality or role accorded to the so-called material conditions of production. In this article we will focus on the definition of the concept of racial capitalism possible nexus between racialization and exploitation
