In the Italian legal system, to be formally recognised as a religious denomination, a group may choose between different legal forms. However, all the available models must be adapted to fit into the structure of the religious denomination. This process risks distorting the internal operational dynamics of the faith group in question, and whether the legal framework currently in place is adequate.
