This essay aims to analyze the first seven lectures on Maine de Biran delivered by Victor Delbos at the Sorbonne between 1910 and 1911. The analysis will focus on the two lectures examining the Mémoires sur l’habitude, as well as the lecture in which Delbos discusses the links between Biran’s thinking and idéologie. A reading of Delbos’s work reveals that the autonomy of the young Biran’s thought was the starting point for the development of his doctrine nouvelle.
