This article interrogates the transformations of gender history through the lens of trans history. It tackles first the way trans history has transformed not only some of the categories of gender history but also the positionality of the historian. It then examines the question of the archive in trans histories and whether this historical approach can open the door to new ways of relating to historical sources.
