The paper focuses on the rules concerning the circulation of judgments and public documents as envisaged in the proposal of EU Regulation in matters of parenthood. It analyses the different categories of acts covered by the proposal, the mechanisms for the recognition of judgments and for the acceptance of public documents and the grounds for refusal. The paper also aims to evaluate the proposed rules on the European certificate of parenthood and their possible interaction with the circulation of judgments and of public documents in parenthood matters.
