This paper ethnographically investigates the fragmenting temporal dimensions which characterize the life of homeless young migrants «inhabiting» the area of Termini Station, Rome. The liminal time of the urban/social interstice is interlocked with broader temporal processes that concern migration paths and structural violences, affecting dimensions linked to future projects as well as to memory and the sense of self. In everyday life, the people encountered implement vital tactics such as «domesticating» spaces/times(/meanings) otherwise on the edge of dissolution. As an example of these tactics, the case of trap music and its use is analyzed. Facing the possibility of a «loss of self», the rhythms, social forms and imagery trap music conveys provide elements that "make sense" of to the experience of suspension at the margins, reconnecting with global geographies and defining important reference points for the shaping of subjectivity.
