The article focuses on the reception of Samuel Huntington’s category of «clash of civilizations» after September 11. Huntington famous book, "The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order" (1996), gained a renewed popularity after the Twin Towers terrorist attack and it was praised and criticized in equal measure. The essay follows the debate that arose in those years and attempts to clarify Huntington’s realist position, often misunderstood by its conservative and liberal critics.
