The flexibility of the supply chain plays a crucial role in assisting businesses in enhancing their competitive capabilities and meeting customer needs more effectively. This study examines the factors that influence supply chain flexibility. Data was collected through a survey of 496 manufacturing businesses in two key economic regions of Northern and Southern Vietnam, using a questionnaire. The CBA-SEM linear structural model was utilized in the research. The research results indicate that factors within the core resources of manufacturing businesses need to be synchronized to achieve Supply Chain Flexibility (SCF), thus enhancing the supply chain’s ability to respond to risks and fluctuations in demand. These factors encompass: (1) Commitment of top management, (2) Supply chain strategy, (3) Information sharing within the supply chain, (4) Relationships with suppliers, (5) Multi-functional employees, and (6) Versatile machinery, equipment, and infrastructure. This study offers managerial implications for leaders in Vietnamese manufacturing companies, helping them strive for high-performance supply chain operations and efficient resource utilization to attain production objectives and enhance customer service.
