Video games, as a prominent entertainment medium within digital culture, significantly influence cognitive learning, creativity, and social cooperation. Their integration into platforms like YouTube has cultivated a dynamic community where cultural and ideological discourses, sometimes propelled by sensationalism and propaganda, thrive. The immersive nature of games makes them effective in communicating intricate narratives and subtly impacting players’ perceptions. Qualitative and quantitative analyses, in our case study of the video game «Atomic Heart», reveal these rhetorical strategies’ roles in community engagement on YouTube, where content creators amplify game narratives to resonate emotionally with audiences. Consequently, video games serve as vital intermediaries in cultural, social, and ideological discourses, warranting critical examination.
