310Asking today whether we need a new feminist mythology may seem redundant, or even dangerous. In an age of fake news, shouldn’t we rather be producing more fact checks? In this article, we will first address the question of the particularistic nature of myth, understood as a process that always expresses itself through variants. Secondly, we will demonstrate the necessity, if not the urgency, of creating a specifically feminist mythology. Finally, we will analyze the myth of Saint George and the dragon to show how a feminist reading of an ancient legend can disclose new, emancipatory visions adapted to the challenges of our time.
